Strategy sold $263.5M in stock. The bitcoin buys are still paused.
The company built a $3.225B cash pile instead of adding BTC, which makes the old accumulation story look different.

- →The pause matters because its 843,775 BTC stack sits below its reported average purchase price.

Strategy sold 2,732,318 MSTR shares last week. The sale raised about $263.5 million from July 13 to July 19, according to an SEC 8-K cited by Bitcoin Magazine. Strategy made no bitcoin purchase for the second straight week.
Strategy added $225 million of net cash and lifted its dollar reserve to $3.225 billion, per CoinDesk. The bitcoin stack stayed at 843,775 BTC.
The pause lands differently because the numbers don't add up cleanly anymore. Bitcoin Magazine puts the stack near $54.7 billion as of July 20, with BTC around $64,700. The same report lists Strategy's average cost at $75,476 per coin, or about $63.7 billion including fees.
That implies about $9 billion of paper losses. If you're holding MSTR for the bitcoin proxy trade, your bag now depends on two prices: BTC and Strategy's own stock.
The company has already moved from pure accumulation to cash management. Earlier this month, it disclosed roughly $216 million of BTC sales, which CoinDesk described as a rare reduction. The board also approved a program allowing up to $1.25 billion of BTC sales for cash reserves and preferred-stock dividends.
CEO Phong Le told Bloomberg TV the balance sheet is secure. He said debt risk only enters the discussion if BTC drops to the $8,000 to $10,000 range.
The number to watch is the cash reserve. Saylor posted his usual Sunday tracker tease, but Monday brought no BTC buy. That pattern break is the tape.
Strategy's choice to sell stock while skipping bitcoin buys is the tell: Phong Le is prioritizing cash because the BTC stack is $9 billion underwater.
By Aug. 3, watch whether Strategy files another Monday update with zero BTC purchased and cash reserves still above $3B.
