Strategy bought 1,587 bitcoin last week.
The company paid about $100 million between June 8 and June 14. The average price was $63,024, per a Monday SEC filing cited by CoinDesk. Bitcoin fell from roughly $71,300 to near $61,400 during that window.
The tape matches the story. Strategy bought near the week's low. It disclosed the purchase with bitcoin back above $66,000 and MSTR up 5% pre-market, according to CoinDesk.
The cleaner number is not the buy. It is the funding.
Strategy raised $209 million in the same week by selling about 1.73 million MSTR shares. CoinDesk says the sale came through an at-the-market offering. Strategy also lifted its USD Reserve by $100 million to $1.1 billion as of June 15.
If you hold MSTR, your bag is not just a bitcoin proxy. It is also a machine that sells stock, buys bitcoin, and keeps a dollar buffer for bills.
CoinDesk reports Strategy now holds 846,842 BTC, about 4% of all bitcoin that will ever exist. The stack was valued at about $56 billion as of June 15. Its cost basis is roughly $64 billion.
That gap matters. Strategy is still buying below its average cost of $75,656 per BTC. The company is also showing how it plans to keep buying without touching the stack again.
The number to watch is the share count, not the headline bitcoin total.
Strategy's choice to sell MSTR shares while raising its USD Reserve is the real tell, because common holders are funding both the bitcoin buy and the cash cushion.
Before July 31, watch whether Strategy files another ATM sale above $200 million while keeping the USD Reserve at or above $1.1 billion.
