Robinhood Chain is 12 days old. CoinDesk reported on July 13 that the chain had $312 million in locked value and about 800,000 lifetime addresses.
The bet here is simple: Robinhood built for tokenized stocks, but retail found the cat coin first. The market used the new chain for CASHCAT. CoinDesk said the Robinhood mascot coin hit a $156 million market cap after rising 2,158% in seven days. Tokenized real-world assets were only $12.81 million.
That is the whole story. The chain's serious finance product is 4.1% of locked value, according to Dune data cited by CoinDesk. The cat coin is already more than 12 times bigger than the tokenized asset pile. If you're trading this meta, the early easy trade was not the stock token. It was the joke wearing Robinhood's old face.
NOXA.fun is the real accelerant here. The launchpad has already produced Cash Dog in Hood, Little John, Hoodrat, and Arrow. None of this existed two weeks ago. Now there are dashboards, bots, and enough activity to make the chain feel like a memecoin venue first.
This is not new behavior. Base had the same problem in 2023. Coinbase wanted apps, payments, and serious on-chain use. Retail found cheap blockspace and made coins. Actually, that was the bootstrapping mechanism.
Robinhood Chain's irony is sharper. Its Stock Tokens are barred to U.S. persons, per CoinDesk. That means Robinhood's core home market can't touch the flagship product. So retail went where it could still move: memecoins, stablecoins, and launchpad chaos.
Stablecoins are doing the quiet heavy lifting. CoinDesk put total stablecoin market cap on the chain near $299 million as of July 13. USDG, the Paxos-led stablecoin Robinhood helped back, made up about $200 million of that.
So the chain is alive. It just isn't alive in the way the pitch deck probably wanted. CASHCAT proved corporate-built chains can't keep speculative money in one lane. They can only hope the first wave leaves behind users, liquidity, and habits after it cools.
Robinhood launched a regulated-asset chain before its core U.S. users could trade the flagship product, and that's the catch. NOXA.fun got the cleanest retail lane on the network.
By August 15, watch whether CASHCAT's market cap stays above $100 million and NOXA.fun launches keep clearing $10 million in daily trading volume.
