Strive bought more bitcoin than Strategy last week. The weekly race has a new leader, for now.
Strive beat Strategy's weekly bitcoin purchase volume for the first time. Strategy's weekly pace dropped 67% from the prior week while its cash reserve grew to $1.4 billion.

- →Strive bought 759 bitcoin for roughly $50 million in the week ending June 21, topping Strategy's 520-coin purchase.
- →Strategy's weekly bitcoin buy fell from 1,587 coins to 520 last week, while its USD Reserve grew by $335 million to $1.4 billion.
- →Watch Strive's next Form 8-K by June 30: another week above 500 BTC would make the race harder to dismiss.
- Form 8-K → A mandatory filing US public companies submit to regulators when something financially significant happens, like a large purchase or capital raise.
- USD Reserve → Cash Strategy holds separately from its bitcoin to cover dividend payments on its preferred shares and interest payments on its debt.
Strive bought 759 bitcoin last week.
That beat Strategy's 520-coin purchase in the same window. It is the clearest sign yet that the corporate bitcoin race is no longer Strategy alone at the front.
Both companies filed Form 8-Ks Monday morning. Strive paid roughly $50 million at about $65,850 per coin, according to Bitcoin Magazine. Strategy paid $35 million at $67,068 per coin. Strive's total holdings now sit at 19,864 BTC, the filing shows.
Strategy's weekly purchase volume moved from 1,550 BTC to 1,587 BTC, then dropped to 520 BTC last week. The company made no public comment on the decline beyond a standard Sunday preview on X.
What Strategy did last week was build cash. It sold roughly 2.7 million MSTR shares for $335 million, lifting its USD Reserve to $1.4 billion. That reserve covers preferred dividends and interest on $6.7 billion in convertible debt. That is cash, not accumulation.
Strategy holds 847,363 BTC, per Bitcoin Magazine. Its aggregate cost basis is above $64 billion. At roughly $64,200 per coin, the portfolio is about $9.8 billion underwater. BTC Yield has slipped to 11.8% from 13.3% in late May.
Strive's 19,864 BTC total is still small against Strategy's stack. But 759 coins follows two quiet weeks of 32 and 73 BTC. The company has a $4.2 billion capital target for H2 2026. If you're tracking the corporate accumulation race, this is the week it got competitive.
Strategy's silence is the story. A 67% weekly drop in purchase volume, paired with a $335 million cash raise, makes the market price Strategy less like a relentless buyer and more like a balance-sheet manager.
Watch Strive's next Form 8-K by June 30: if weekly volume holds above 500 BTC for a second consecutive week, the corporate accumulation race has shifted away from Strategy's dominance.
