- STRC → STRC is Strategy's preferred stock that pays a dividend and trades separately from its common shares.

STRC rebounded more than 30% from its late-June low, per CoinDesk. The preferred stock traded around $94 on August 5 after bottoming near $71 in late June. The tape matches the story, but the support was not free.
Strategy sold 5,226 BTC for $321 million, according to CoinDesk. Its bitcoin holdings fell from 847,363 BTC to about 842,137 BTC. The company also repurchased $106 million of STRC and built a reported $4 billion cash reserve.
That is cash, not leverage. STRC carries a 12% annualized dividend rate, and CoinDesk said the reserve covers about 2.3 years of preferred dividends. If you're holding STRC, the only number that matters is not bitcoin per share today. It is how long Strategy can keep paying.
The rebound matters because Strategy is now managing two stories at once. The common-stock story is still bitcoin exposure. The STRC story is a cash product that needs buyers to believe the dividend keeps landing.
The filing trail is split. Strategy's July 6 SEC filing showed BTC sales used to fund preferred distributions and rebuild dollar reserves. The freshest $4 billion reserve and $106 million buyback numbers in this batch come from CoinDesk, not a same-day filing. That difference matters.
The next print is simple. If STRC keeps rising without more BTC sales, confidence is doing the work. If Strategy sells again, the support is still active.
Strategy's choice to sell 5,226 BTC and buy back STRC was the right defense because a 12% dividend needs cash, not slogans.
By the end of September, watch whether Strategy files another BTC sale or STRC buyback above $100 million; either would show support is still active.
