On-chain accumulation and ETF outflows are pointing in opposite directions. The $887M leaving ETF products tells one story; $101M entering named wallets tells another.

- →ETH fell more than 20% last month and ETF products lost $887M in two months, while identified on-chain institutions kept buying.
- →Watch ETH ETF weekly flows before the end of July: two consecutive net-positive weeks would signal fund money following the on-chain buyers in.
- ETF outflows → Money leaving exchange-traded funds that hold ETH, meaning investors are selling their fund shares back to the issuer.
- DAT → Digital Asset Treasury, a company that holds a cryptocurrency as its main corporate reserve asset.
$101M in ETH left exchanges on Tuesday. Most of it went to two named buyers.
A wallet attributed to a16z withdrew 25,560 ETH ($42.62M) from Binance on June 23, per Lookonchain data cited by AMBCrypto. The attribution is Lookonchain's label, not a first-party a16z disclosure. Bitmine, Tom Lee's Ethereum treasury company, bought 35,138 ETH ($58.65M) from BitGo and Kraken the same day. Bitmine's weekly accumulation stands at 52,203 ETH, roughly $92M, per AMBCrypto.
The backdrop is not friendly. ETH sat at $1,671.94 on Tuesday, down more than 20% over the past month. ETH ETF products posted $346.39M in outflows in June, following $540.88M in May. That's $887M out of ETF products in two months.
Sharplink, described as the second-largest Ethereum DAT, staked 509 ETH this week. Its total earned ETH is now 22,102, per the same report.
The split is clean. ETF buyers are leaving. On-chain, identified institutions are adding. If you hold ETH, the only number that matters is not today's price. It's whether the ETF outflows slow before the next move.
Bitmine's dollar framing leaves the market guessing: coin targets would show whether this is steady buying or just buying the dip.
ETH ETF weekly flows turning net-positive for two consecutive weeks before the end of July, which would signal fund money following the on-chain buyers rather than continuing to exit.
