- →Bitcoin climbed to about $65,844 on June 15 after the U.S. and Iran announced a deal to end hostilities.
- →The rally is real for now, but the last two ceasefire moves fully unwound after the politics broke.
- →Watch the June 19 signing and ETF flow data because geopolitics fixed oil pressure, not Bitcoin demand.
- ETF outflows → ETF outflows mean more money left exchange-traded funds than entered them over a set period.
- Strait of Hormuz → The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow shipping route that carries a large share of the world's oil.
Bitcoin hit $65,844 on June 15.
CoinDesk reported the move from an early Asian low near $63,722. The price was up 2.1% over 24 hours. That was Bitcoin's highest level in nearly two weeks. The bet is simple: this holds only if Friday's signing turns relief into proof.
The catalyst is named. The U.S. and Iran announced a deal to end hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude fell more than 4% toward $83 a barrel, per CoinDesk.
Crypto moved with the broader risk trade. Asian stocks rose more than 3%, with the Nikkei 225 heading for a record close. S&P 500 futures added 1.2% on June 15.
If you're holding Bitcoin today, this is not just a crypto story. Cheaper oil cuts inflation pressure. That gives the Fed and BOJ less reason to sound tough this week.
Still, this rally has failed before. CoinDesk notes two earlier Iran ceasefire rallies fully unwound. One broke in April. Another broke after U.S. strikes on June 9.
The formal signing is set for June 19 in Switzerland. That is the number to watch now. Until then, the market is pricing relief, not proof.
Demand is the separate problem. ETF outflows remain a headwind. Strategy's disclosed 32-BTC sale to fund preferred dividends also hit the old belief that Saylor never sells.
The tape matches the story, for now. Oil is down, equities are up, and Bitcoin is higher. Friday decides whether this was a reset or another failed geopolitical bounce.
Bitcoin's rally is unproven until the June 19 signing because the last two Iran ceasefire moves fully unwound.
