Bitcoin just pulled $700M into ETFs. This rally finally has buyers.
The move is not just price chasing. Funds, whales, and options desks are all showing up at once.

Bitcoin traded at $66,271.36 on July 21. CoinDesk reported the price alongside more than $700M in net spot BTC ETF inflows over five straight trading days. That is the longest streak since May, using SoSoValue data cited in the report.
The tape matches the story. This is not one buyer type dragging the chart higher. ETFs are taking cash. Large whales have bought over the past two months, and options traders have placed bull call spreads targeting $72,000 by month-end, per CoinDesk.
The reversal matters because the last cycle was ugly. Tagus Capital, cited by CoinDesk, put BTC ETF redemptions at $7.5B from mid-May through June. A five-day inflow run does not erase that, but it changes the near-term pressure.
On-chain data adds a cleaner split. CryptoQuant data, cited through FxPro commentary, showed large whales accumulating while medium-sized wallets sold. If you're holding bitcoin here, your bag is not just leaning on retail hope. The bigger wallets are quietly on the other side of that flow.
The catalyst is named, but not confirmed. CoinDesk pointed to unverified reports that the White House agreed to ethics-package wording for the Clarity Act. Polymarket odds on passage jumped to 43% on the same reports. That is still a market reacting to a headline, not a law moving through Congress.
The number to watch is $70,173. CoinDesk framed that as bitcoin's 100-day simple moving average on July 21. The next level was around $72,800, the 200-day average. The report said a close above that line would technically confirm the end of the bear market that began last October.
There is one large cash drain in the way. Mott Capital Management flagged about $106B in net Treasury issuance this week, including $56B on Tuesday, $37B on Thursday, and a $13B Friday coupon. That is cash, not leverage. If bill supply keeps pulling dollars away from risk, ETF demand needs to stay visible.
Options traders targeting $72,000 by month-end are leaning too hard on an unverified Clarity Act headline, because this week's Treasury supply can still drain cash from risk assets.
By Friday, July 24, watch whether bitcoin closes above $70,173 while spot BTC ETFs post a sixth straight day of net inflows.
