Trump Media killed its $105M Crypto.com coin plan. The pullback is now bigger than one deal.
The CRO treasury plan is dead, and the Truth Social crypto push is getting smaller before it even proves demand.

Trump Media killed a $105 million CRO purchase plan. CoinDesk reported the termination on August 7. CRO fell as much as 5% after the news, according to the report.
The deal was not small. The original Yorkville materials described 6,313,000,212 CRO, $200 million in cash, $220 million in warrants, and a $5 billion equity line. Bitcoin Magazine said the planned backing totaled $6.4 billion.
That setup was supposed to create Trump Media Group CRO Strategy. The public company would accumulate and stake Crypto.com’s token. Now Trump Media, Crypto.com and Yorkville have mutually ended it, CoinDesk reported. The official materials in the brief show the original plan, not the termination filing.
The pullback is wider than CRO. CoinDesk also said the companies dropped a separate setup where Crypto.com would service certain planned Yorkville America ETFs. Multiple outlets reported that Trump Media is scaling back Crypto.com-linked prediction market plans for Truth Social.
If you held CRO for the Trump Media bid, your bag just lost its named catalyst. That is the only number that matters today: not the old $6.4 billion headline, but the missing new filing.
Trump Media still had 9,542 BTC at the end of Q2, per CoinDesk. The company also moved 2,628 BTC earlier this week, worth about $165 million, the report said. Crypto is not gone from the story. The CRO part is, for now.
Trump Media's choice to kill the CRO treasury was the right cut because a political media company did not need a public token hoard tied to one exchange.
Watch for an 8-K from Yorkville or Trump Media before September 30 confirming termination terms and whether Crypto.com keeps any ETF service role.
