Kraken added roughly 2,500 Solana tokens to its main app. You no longer need a separate wallet to reach them.
Coinbase did it, Binance did it, and now Kraken has. The unified crypto app is no longer an experiment.

- →Kraken integrated native on-chain trading into its existing app, giving customers in 100+ countries access to roughly 2,500 Solana tokens without a separate wallet or DEX interface.
- →This is the third major exchange to embed on-chain routing into its core product, a pattern that is making long-tail token access mainstream rather than a niche feature.
- →Watch whether Kraken expands beyond Solana to EVM chains within the next three months. A Solana-only launch is either a test or a commitment, and that answer matters.
- on-chain trading → Buying and selling tokens directly on the blockchain, without a centralized company holding your funds in the middle.
- long-tail tokens → Smaller or newer tokens that are not big enough to get listed on major exchanges, but still trade on decentralized networks.
Kraken just added native on-chain trading to its main app. Kraken reports roughly 2,500 Solana tokens are now live in the app for customers in 100+ countries. That includes many tokens that have never been listed on any centralized exchange.
No separate wallet. No DEX interface. Just the app you already have.
This is the third time a top-five exchange has done this. Coinbase embedded on-chain swaps through its wallet. Binance built Web3 Wallet with on-chain routing. Kraken went further: the feature lives inside the main app, not a standalone product.
That distinction matters. Separate wallet products create friction. Embedding on-chain routing into the core app gives every Kraken customer access to long-tail tokens without switching to a second interface.
If you hold Solana, your on-chain trades now live in the app you already use. Smaller tokens, no second interface. The line between a crypto exchange and a decentralized trading tool is officially gone.
The number to watch: Kraken hasn't announced other chains. Solana is the right start given the throughput and token count. But this architecture will expand.
Staying Solana-only is Kraken's concession to Coinbase on its home turf. Base is the obvious next chain. Every week without it is a week Coinbase owns the EVM on-ramp.
Watch for Kraken to name a second chain integration within three months. If Solana stays solo past September, this reads as a soft-launch test, not a committed product direction.
