Backpack’s SpaceX token hit 10,000 holders. The race is about distribution now.
The underlying asset is the same SpaceX story everyone wants. The winner on Solana is being picked by who can actually place the product in front of users.

- →Backpack’s tokenized SpaceX share token passed 10,000 on-chain holders six days after listing, The Defiant reported on June 18.

- Tokenized equity → A tokenized equity is a blockchain token meant to track or represent exposure to a company’s stock.
- On-chain holder → An on-chain holder is a wallet address that holds a token directly on a blockchain.
- Solana → Solana is a blockchain used for fast and low-cost crypto apps and token trading.
10,000 holders is the number Backpack wanted everyone to see.
The Defiant reported on June 18 that Backpack’s tokenized SpaceX share token passed 10,000 on-chain holders. That happened six days after listing, alongside SpaceX’s Nasdaq debut. The same report said Backpack now has nearly twice the holders of xStocks’ SPCXx product.
That is the story. Not SpaceX. Not the ticker. Distribution.
If you’re buying tokenized equities on Solana, the asset is only half the product. The other half is where the token lives, who can see it, and how fast users can move from curiosity to holding. Backpack’s early lead says the market is rewarding the venue, not just the wrapper.
This has happened before. In the 1970s, money market funds did not beat banks because cash suddenly became interesting. They won because users got a simple place to park money and earn more. The product looked boring. Distribution was the weapon.
Tokenized equities are walking into the same test. The stock side just got real, for now. SpaceX is no longer a private-market rumor in this setup. But the first race is not about who can say “SpaceX” the loudest.
xStocks still has the cleaner platform pitch. It wants to be the broad stock-token platform. That matters if tokenized equities become a normal trading habit. But Backpack’s SpaceX token hit 10,000 holders in under a week, and the obvious product can win first.
The caution is that these figures come from The Defiant’s report, not an independent on-chain query. The numbers don't add up to a permanent lead yet. Airdrops, small balances, and wallet splitting can make holder counts noisy.
Still, holder count is not useless. It shows surface area. It shows whether users can actually reach the thing. In tokenized equities, that may matter more than the paperwork around the token early on.
The implication is simple. Solana’s tokenized-stock race already has a frontrunner. Backpack did not need a better SpaceX. It needed better placement.
Backpack’s choice to push the SpaceX token through its own wallet and exchange stack is the winning move because xStocks proved asset access alone doesn’t create holders.
By July 15, watch whether xStocks’ SPCXx reaches at least 8,000 on-chain holders or Backpack’s distribution lead becomes the default story.
