- →The CFTC registered Gemini Olympus as a derivatives clearing organization on April 29, clearing the path for regulated futures, options, and swaps.
- →Combined with Gemini Titan's DCM designation from December 2025, Gemini now controls both halves of a US-regulated derivatives operation.
- →Watch for Gemini Titan to file a listed product with the CFTC for crypto futures or perpetuals before the end of Q2 2026.
- DCO → A derivatives clearing organization is the entity that sits between buyers and sellers of futures or swaps contracts, guaranteeing that trades settle even if one side defaults.
- DCM → A designated contract market is a CFTC-licensed exchange where derivatives like futures and options can legally be listed and traded in the US.
Gemini Olympus, LLC was registered by the CFTC as a derivatives clearing organization on April 29, per the CFTC's public filing. The approval lets the Gemini affiliate act as a clearinghouse for regulated derivatives including prediction markets, crypto futures, options, and perpetual contracts.
The timing completes a two-part regulatory build. Gemini Titan received its designated contract market designation from the CFTC in December 2025, making it a licensed exchange. With Gemini Olympus now holding the DCO license, Gemini controls both the trading venue and the settlement infrastructure without routing through a third-party clearinghouse.
That vertical structure matters for margin and speed. CME Group and ICE both run their own clearinghouses. A DCM without a DCO means clearing fees, collateral requirements, and settlement timelines are set by someone else.
Per Gemini's press release this morning, Gemini Titan plans to explore US offerings for crypto futures, options, and perpetual contracts under the combined license suite. No launch timeline was given.
The prediction market angle is specific. Gemini has been positioning in regulated US events derivatives against Polymarket and Kalshi. A CFTC-registered clearinghouse behind those contracts changes which regulated desks can legally trade them.
Gemini Titan is sitting on the only complete US derivatives license stack in crypto right now. A delay past Q2 on a listed perpetuals product cedes first-mover to CME and every competitor still assembling their regulatory stack.
A CFTC product listing by Gemini Titan for a crypto futures or perpetuals contract by June 30, 2026, the end of Q2.
